Sri Vrindavan is a divine land for devotees of Lord Krishna, so many temples and so many Ashrams [place to live in with nominal charges with good food in divine touch] adds to the Glory of Sri Vrindavan.

Sri Sri Vrindavan is the city of beautiful Ancient Temples, all are equally nice to visit with faith and spirit but a temple with a difference is known in the name of Sri Bihari ji-
Sri Bankey Bihari Temple,

Bankey Bihari temple in Vrindavan is one of the graet legends of divine spirit in the land of Lord Krishna in India.
Swami Hari Das made him manifest in the form of Bankey Bihari ji in Nidhivan through his great austerity and penance on the path of divine love.
The Idol of Thakur Ji Sri Bankey Bihari is much older and was worshipped in Nidhivan till 1863. The site of temple in present scenario was constructed in 1864 with the contribution of Goswamis.
After constructing of temple, Goswamis transferred the Idol of Lord Krishna to this temple.

 Bankey means "Bent at three places"
Bihari means "Supreme enjoyer".

Idol of Sri Sri Bankey Bihari ji represents the childhood stage of Lord Krishna,
There is a different and unique style of celebrating in the temple for almost every festival.

The deity is dressed up and offered cuisine (Bhog, Prasad) according to season.
Temple is decorated with lights and various types of flower according to festivals.

There are no bells or conch in the temple because Bankey Bihari does not like the sound of bells or conch, 'Radha Naam' alone is dear to Sri Bihari ji.

When someone enters in the temple, feels an eternal bliss and calm that makes one forsake all the miseries. As the one have glimpse of Sri Thakur feel hypnotized by the grace of Lord and attain the supreme status human can achieve on the path of peace and bliss, and one becomes dedicating to Thakur ji in love with, Kind hearted Thakur ji take the perpetual responsibility of truthful devotees and remove all the hurdles raised by ignorance in life through his Divine Grace.

Sri Sri Bihari ji bestower of wishes is as true as the life on the planet and Sun and moon in the sky.

Lord Krishna ever respect the life on the planet, life that in any form,

 Not only human, Lord keeps a compassionate nature for all creature but very few species recognize that love of Lord,

Lord Krishna’s love for cow was beyond measure, he was so caring, and not only cow Lord was saviour of elephant too as per the version of ancient books,
Lord Krishna’s love for peacock was too remarkable,

Kadamb Tree was excessively dear to lord,

Vyjayanthimala was Lord’s favourite in all respect in his childhood,

And Lotus was his first choice, he ever honour the dignity of lotus in true spirit…..

Holy basil was excessively dear to Lord,

Lord was true lover of nature; his heart was Infinite Ocean of love and Sri Vrindavan speaks all this story of Lord’s love through its divine nature. 

Message of Lord was very clear for man unto nature that Respect the nature in true spirit,  Serve the nature all the way, Never Harm the Nature in any-form, Realize the dignity of nature that Giver of Life,

His Love for River Yamuna was unique, his passionate nature for trees and flowers indicate his love for Nature,

His Love for birds was beyond measure, peacock was his favourite that indicate his Love for nature,

His Love for forests so called Van was unique that makes him lover of sri Vrindavan which indicate his Love for nature.

Mountain that known in the name of Sri Giri-Raj ji is one of the legendary chapters on the subject of his love for nature.  

Lord Krishna has given the message that to care the nature through love, love it and be loved by.

 Lord Sri Krishna was so passionate about the nature- to a time Sri Vrindavan was the heart of nature, which was the main place where lord Krishna  visited again and again-perhaps for the reason of forest of Holy Basil with celestial River Yamuna and numerous ponds of nectar with truth of ecology--- rarest of rare truth on Divine Chapter.

Presence of lord Krishna and Holy Basil attracts the another legend of Devotional truth that Sri Sri Radha ji and she enlightened this place as a legend on divine light for life on the planet.

Its was not just a forest  but a define subject of nature which was comprehensive mode of divine light to enlighten the chamber of heart for human to visualise the status of self and the God.
